Henteleff Park
A serene 40-acre public park and historic urban oasis situated along the beautiful Red River in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
The park stands on land rich with cultural history. Métis families established farms on these river lots as early as 1822. In 1924, Abraham Leonard Henteleff purchased the property, and his family went on to operate a thriving market garden here, becoming pioneer Jewish market gardeners in Western Canada.
Today, the park is preserved as a passive sanctuary for over 150 species of songbirds and features restored riparian forest trails, Normand Creek fish spawning habitats, and an onsite Interpretive Centre.
